In the heart of the Condrieu appellation and on the northernmost part of Saint-Joseph, the Domaine du Monteillet has overlooked the Northern Rhône Valley for 9 generations. Stéphane Montez, passionate about vines and wines, works in harmony with his terroir and his team. After many international experiences, he returned to bring a unique touch to the family estate, aware of the importance of the Rhône Valley terroir.

In the cellar, the estate works mainly by gravity and carries out aging in demi-muids (600-liter barrels) which can last up to more than 40 months for certain vintages. The wines of Domaine du Monteillet are of exceptional quality.

👁️ Dress : Red intense garnet with purple reflections, brilliant and deep, testifying to the concentration and richness of this Saint-Joseph.

👃🏻 Nose : aromas of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant) complemented by notes of spices (black pepper), liquorice and garrigue . Touches of finely toasted wood and smoke enrich this complex aromatic palette.

👄 Mouth : ample and structured , with dense and well-integrated tannins. The ripe fruit flavors are accompanied by spicy and slightly woody notes, offering a long and persistent finish , with a beautiful freshness and an elegant minerality.

🍽️ Agreements : grilled red meats , game or dishes in sauce such as beef bourguignon . It also goes well with hard, mature cheeses .

🕐 Storage potential : Already pleasant to taste, this wine can age in the cellar for 10 to 15 years , developing even more complexity and aromatic nuances.
