Domaine des Martinelles - Hermitage 2019

For over six generations, our family has perpetuated a rich winemaking tradition in Gervans, where our ancestors were distillers until the end of the 19th century. This winemaking heritage is still visible in our vaulted cellar. In 2002, Nadia and Pascal Fayolle founded Domaine des Martinelles , creating a range of authentic wines. Pascal watches over the vineyard, while Nadia manages the commercial and administrative aspects.

Our Hermitage vintage, from vines facing due south, reflects the richness of our terroirs . Marsanne and Roussanne grow on white, clayey soils, while Syrah flourishes on sandy, stony soils, spread over the localities of Murets, Dionnières, Beaume and Pierrelles.

👁️ Dress : Red deep garnet with purple reflections, dense and intense, announcing a beautiful concentration and complexity.

👃🏻 Nose : powerful and complex, revealing aromas of black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry) associated with notes of spices (pepper, clove), liquorice and garrigue . Touches of cocoa and a slight minerality enrich this aromatic bouquet.

👄 Mouth : ample and structured , with silky but very present tannins. The flavors of ripe fruit mingle with notes of noble wood and spices , offering a long and persistent finish , marked by a beautiful freshness and an elegant minerality.

🍽️ Agreements : red meats in sauce, game such as wild boar or venison, or even hard, mature cheeses such as comté or parmesan.

🕐 Storage potential: A wine that can be enjoyed now, but which will gain in complexity and finesse with aging for 10 to 15 years , evolving towards deeper and spicier notes.
